Natural History Museum: Earth Galleries Update (Earth's Treasury)This exhibit shows the properties of hardness, density, opacity and magnetism in materials. A rolling ball is used to attract and direct the visitor's attention, as to what physical property is currently being demonstrated. The exhibit includes an Archimedes screw and stainless steel tracking for guiding the ball. The demonstrations, lighting effects and the path of the ball, are controlled by a microprocessor. |
